About Dr Aemelia Melloy

Dr Aemelia Melloy is a locally trained general surgeon with a special interest in Breast and Endocrine surgery. She graduated from Griffith University in 2011 and trained at multiple Queensland hospitals - including Logan, Ipswich, Cairns and Gold Coast. She obtained her fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2021 and completed a year of additional fellowship training in Breast, Endocrine and General Surgery at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Brisbane.

Prior to surgical training Aemelia completed a Bachelor of Music and worked as a Registered Music Therapist with people suffering from dementia. She has a passion for music and enjoys playing both the piano and the violin.

Aemelia has three children and has relocated back to Cairns with her family to join private practice with Dr John Knott. She will be working out of both Cairns Private and Cairns Public Hospitals from mid-February 2022.

Dr Melloy cares for patients from Cairns and across Northern Queensland from her consulting rooms located close to the city centre in Cairns, QLD.
